Coram Deo Foundation Provides a Matching Donation to Support Greater Sudbury Celebration of Will Graham
“I’ve been praying forty years for this moment,” said one of the attendees at the Greater Sudbury Celebration of Will Graham, as she watched her husband approach the front and witness a “divine appointment that God had for [her husband].”
Will Graham – grandson of evangelist Billy Graham – led his first Canadian event in 2004, reaching out to people from coast to coast, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Now, with more than 30 celebrations and other outreach events in Canada, Will Graham’s latest Celebration took place from October 15-17, 2021 in Sudbury, Ontario, where the Coram Deo Foundation generously provided monetary matching donation. As the Celebrations continue to grow with each passing year, more people across the globe have access to God’s call and are able to hear the hope of the Gospel.
During 2020, due to ongoing pandemic, celebrations were able to continue via live-stream technologies, such as Zoom. This allowed the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada (BGEAC) to find new ways to reach the community of Greater Sudbury (and other audiences across Canada.)
After nearly 18 months on limitations with indoor personal gatherings, October 2021 marked the first in-person Celebration for anyone who wished to attend the three-day event at the Sudbury Arena. Will Graham and popular Christian musicians – The Afters, The Color, Brooke Nicholls and George Canyon – were able to perform in-person during this weekend-long event.
Canadian worship leader and recording artist, Brooke Nicholls, opened the event at Sudbury Arena on Saturday and Sunday evening, leading the audience in a powerful time of worship. In addition, award-winning country music artist, George Canyon, shared music and personal testimonies during the Sunday night Celebration.
For those individuals who were not comfortable in attending an in-person gathering, a virtual format was available to watch as a live stream throughout the weekend.
Reaching over 45 countries across the world, the Greater Sudbury Celebration of Will Graham 2021 saw more than 880 attendees in person; 10,000 online views on Saturday and Sunday combined; and over 150 individuals made the decision to follow Christ and the “good work” of God.
The annual celebrations of Will Graham provide opportunities for believers to bring friends and loved ones to hear the Gospel in non-church environments. Celebrations also strengthen churches and equip Christ-followers to share their faith.
“Coming to this Celebration doesn’t make you a child of God”, says Will Graham “You have to ask Him to be the ruler of your life.”
